Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a name or case number is entered into a search tool on this website, the query is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and returns its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message so that we can respond. The message remains within our organization and is not shared outside it unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, our servers can receive technical information about the visit, including:
- The IP address associated with the device
- The browser and browser version in use
- The device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages
- The referring website, when one is provided
- The time of each page request
Cookies and Analytics
This website uses cookies, which are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic patterns, such as popular pages and points where visitors leave. Analytics providers aggregate that activity. Browser settings can block cookies, though some website functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Information collected through the website may be used for the following operational purposes:
- Operating and maintaining the website
- Routing search requests to the appropriate partner service
- Assessing which content visitors use and where improvements are needed
- Investigating and correcting technical problems
- Delivering advertising that may be relevant to visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Seneca County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record data. It provides general information about records held by the Seneca County Clerk of Courts, Legal Department; Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court; and the Probate and Juvenile divisions. Ohio has no single statewide public trial-court search that replaces those local sources. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this website are supplied by outside providers. Information entered into those tools is handled under the provider's privacy policy rather than this one. Each provider controls its own retention and sharing practices, which we do not direct. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
This website links to clerk pages, court portals, the Common Pleas Court Case Inquiry, Municipal and Probate CaseLook systems, legal-aid resources, and third-party search tools. A link takes you to another website, where that site's privacy policy governs. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may also track activity across websites to serve targeted advertisements. That activity occurs on their own systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that process a query entered through this website
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that display advertisements on our pages
- Law enforcement or government authorities when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards intended to protect collected information. No internet-based system is completely secure, however. We take reasonable steps to protect data but cannot guarantee that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If you believe that a minor has provided information to us, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Ohio law may provide additional rights in particular circumstances. Court-record access information on this website is governed by the Ohio Rules of Superintendence 11.09-11.16 and Ohio Revised Code 2303.12. Ohio Revised Code 149.43 addresses general county public-record policy, but it does not bypass court-record access rules. At a minimum, you may:
- Ask for a copy of information we maintain about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt out of certain forms of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy in the future. A revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Check this page periodically if you want to follow changes to our data practices.
Effective date: September 1, 2026
